#WhoAmISabah – Dhanaraj Balakrishnan

Hey Sabahan peeps!

My dad is a West Malaysian Indian from Batu Gajah, Perak and mom is a Chinese from Labuan.

My dad used to work at Labuan even before I was born and I am sure they met each other there :p . I have a brother and a sister, I am the youngest.

All of us were born In Damai Specialist Centre, Kota Kinabalu but were raised in Labuan. I am 15 years old and still a student.

Now I live in Ipoh, Perak. I stayed in Labuan for about 8 years but during the holiday I will go back to Sabah.

In 2005, my family shifted to Ipoh, Perak. Living in West Malaysia is a bit different compared to living in Borneo for me.

The last time I when back to Sabah was last month, for my cousin’s wedding. It really felt good to be back after 7 years. They had the reception dinner at Sutera Habour Resort, Kota Kinabalu.

To be honest I actually never been there before. The place was fantastic! You do not get to see that kind of place in Ipoh.

Not only that, I see a lot of changes in Sabah, new buildings coming up and also new shopping mall, Suria Sabah.

I hope during the school holiday this year I can go back to my hometown and get to know more stuff about Sabah.

Being a Sabahan is unique. I am very proud to be a Sabahan 🙂 and I miss eating Tuaran mee and THE BEST seafood. :))
